Decision MAde

Posted onSeptember 30, 2005December 21, 2016Leave a comment

So, I made up my mind and called my (former) PO. I decided to go ahead and switch regions, and I *should* receive an invitation in about a month. I figure, either way I’m going to have to wait and have more time to work and get things in order. Read More …

Ok, so I have a dilema.

I received a call from my placement officer today- apparently the person I spoke to yesterday was NOT that person. She says, “well you got medical clearance yesterday- but your program is full so you can’t leave in November.” After further discussion she tells me that my next option is Read More …

Call from the PCMO Office

Posted onSeptember 27, 2005December 21, 2016Leave a comment

So, after keepign myself awake last night stressing about my impending deadline, I got a phone call this afternoon. It was my nurse, looking over my file asking a few questions. My doctor had given me an EKG, not realizing that it was only for people 50 and older, and Read More …

I don’t think it’s the caffiene I had earlier in the evening that’s doing it either. I tried going to bed earlier and it didn’t work. I just laid there quietly freaking out about everything that’s going on, or (more importantly) not going on, right now. According to the solar Read More …

Waiting on the PCMO

Posted onSeptember 19, 2005December 21, 2016Leave a comment

I called the medical office again today to say, “my deadline’s coming up, any news?” just as I was told last time, “call back if you haven’t heard anything in two weeks.” I think I may try to call my actual PO tomorrow, if I can figure out who that Read More …

Still No Medical Clearance

Still no word from the PC medical office. I was told to call back on Wednesday, but I’m calling first thing on Monday morning. This is getting ridiculous.

The status: in limbo.

That nomination date is getting closer and closer and it’s starting to make me a bit nervous that I haven’t heard anything from the medical office. Today I made a little phonecall and left a rather poor message. I was not very organized in my leaving it, as I (foolishly) Read More …

Dental Clearance!

Posted onAugust 3, 2005December 21, 2016Leave a comment

As of this morning, I have *dental* clearance. Now I just have to wait for medical clearance to come through. I’m going to give it three weeks and then I’m going to give them a little call to “check on things.” Yaaaaaay!

Take that suckas!

The upper half of my mouth is numb and I feel kinda ridiculous, buuuuuut I got two fillings that needed to be gotten (according to PC). I received the paperwork Friday afternoon, stopped by my dentist’s office this morning to figure out what needed to be done, returned at 3 Read More …

Dental!

So, I got an envelope in the mail from the Peace Corps medical office today. They sent back my dental files with a note saying that I need two fillings and a letter from my dentist stating that he’d done the work before I can get dental clearance. On the Read More …

On finding small windows into the past:

Recently, I’ve been going through many of my personal belongings in an effort to cut down on the volume of sheer stuff that I have and also to hopefully sell a few things that I don’t need. In doing that I’ve uncovered some things that I’ve forgotten about or have Read More …
