So, today is it. It’s been exactly four months since I left home and I’m still alive, relatively healthy (I think I’m getting a cold…) and all that crap.
Madrid is cool, I’m staying right in the center of things. Spaniards are interesting people, lots of old people here like to go for walks. They all have canes and take up as much of the sidewalk as possible. Especially when I’m in a hurry. I think they do it on purpose. Really, you feel bad knocking them down to get by. Instead you have to dance around impatiently behind them, waiting for a gap through which to propel yourself. And it’s not just the old people. It’s pretty much everybody. What can I say? I’m impatient.
Anyway, I went to Toledo yesterday. It it is so much lovelier than the US city of same name. MUCH MUCH MUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH prettier. I took lots of pictures. I think I’m going to get a cable to upload all of my pictures online soon…so hopefully I can get them up and share some in the next week or two. Depending on how busy I am with class.
By the way, I taught my second class on Friday. IT went well. Hooray!
In other news:
*Spanish Jesus freaks are still at it in Sol.
*I am going to the embassy tomorrow to register for my absentee ballot so that I can vote vote vote before I leave España!
*There is an odd obsesion with ham in this country. There is a chain of places in this city called “Museo del Jamon” (Museum of Ham). Eew.
