One. Day. Left.

So, tomorrow’s the big day, the day that it all begins. I’ve got my bags mostly packed, but not weighed yet. I still have a few last minute things to pick up, namely two months worth of Rx meds that the pharmacy didn’t have on Friday and small gift-type items for my host family. Tonight we’re having a few people over for dinner. In addition to packing up to leave, I’ve got a package to put together, taxes to finish filing and I’m trying to empty out my room a bit.

Amidst all of these last minute preparations, the reality of where I am has yet to hit me. I have not, as Jeremy so eloquently put it, had my “oh shit” moment yet. I predict it will happen around the time my plane stops to refuel in Japan. If not then, perhaps when that first blast of hot air hits me in the face in Manila. In the meantime, I’m trying not to think about that too much and instead focus on getting all of my ends tied up in a neat little bow.
