Not much time to write a whole lot now, but the last week has been busy and yet not.
Monday was a holiday and with our extra day of free time, I went to a nearby waterfall with two other trainees. I took my camera and got some nice pictures. We’re also planning to go back in a week and I’l bring my waterproof case so I can get some really nice shots in the water (there’s a nice pool for swiming at the base of the waterfall).
The last few days I’ve been in Sipocot on my site visit. I’m the farthest north volunteer in Camarines Sur, which means I’m the closest to Manila, but really I’m not. I’ve been meeting the local school people that I’ll be working with and generally sitting around a whole lot. The town is pretty small and I’m finding it a bit difficlt to get myself psyched up about being here for two years. I’m sure my views on the place will change eventually, but right now I’m trying hard to keep myself somewhat occupied.
