We arrived at our hotel about 1:30 am last night local time, I have no clue what that translates to at home, after about 30 hours in transit. It’s now 11:45 in the morning, we just had to get our picture taken and pee in a cup (not at the same time) and soon it’s off to lunch.
The place where we’re staying is really nice, although there was an incident in our room last night with a gigantic cockroach. I came out of the shower to find my two roommates attempting to kill the thing. It was a successful mission and we swept its corpse outside onto our patio area to serve as a warning to any other cockroaches who might think about entering.
The weather is beautiful, humid but not terribly hot- mid 80s, I’d say. Yes mom, I did remember to put on my sunscreen but it shouldn’t be a big deal, I think we’re going to be indoors in airconditioned bliss for the remainder of the day.
I’ll update again when I have more time, I just wanted to let you all know that I’ve arrived safe and sound.
